Mazis-Chambertin, the northernmost of Gevrey’s Grand Crus, is known for its untamed elegance and primal power. Adjacent to Chambertin itself, this historic vineyard — once reserved for royalty — boasts deep soils rich in gravel and limestone, imparting firmness and intensity to the wine.
Michel Naddef’s interpretation is bold and captivating. It reveals layered aromas of blackberry, cassis, wild rose, and leather, interwoven with notes of black tea, smoke, and wet stone. On the palate, it’s muscular and structured, with firm yet refined tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, symphonic finish that evolves with every sip.
A profound Grand Cru built for aging, it will reward patience over 10 to 20 years, transforming its raw power into graceful complexity. Best enjoyed with truffle-glazed duck, dry-aged beef, or mature artisanal cheeses.
